God, our Protector, grant that I may lie down in peace tonightย and rise alsoย in peace the day after. Likewise, letย my slumber not be disturbed by nightmares or an impure imagination, but that I may sleep in purity. Regain light to my eyes in the morning, that I may not sleep the sleepย of death, for it is Youย who gives life. This I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
