A Prayer for Obedience – Always Say Yes to God

Prayer for Obedience: Father, You are the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. You are the beginning and end, the Being over all authorities. Today I come to You with a humble heart. I confess that I have been living a sinful life. I also admit that I make myself the Lord of my life. I am sorry, and I repent of all my sins. I have realized now that I need a Savior.

Thank You, Jesus, for constantly knocking on my heart. For opening my eyes to see that I cannot continue living my life on my own terms. Thank You for reminding me that I must first and foremost obey You and Your commands if I want to live an abundant life. I know, Jesus, that I am designed to enjoy life with You. So thank You that even though I fall short in obedience, You always pursue my heart.

As I continue to be Your follower, God, remove the stubbornness in my heart and fill it with Your unconditional love so there would be no room for me to disobey because I know that You are using obedience so I can become more like Christ. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide me to always say yes to God and not to my own pleasures.

I also ask that You would give me a humble and repentant heart on days when I do not feel like obeying You. I understand that half-obedience is still disobedience. So Father God, change my heart from the inside out, give me strength and wisdom to follow You wholeheartedly because it is my desire to win more hearts for You.

I pray that I may be able to touch other people’s lives when they see me obeying You despite all the uncertainties. Only by Your grace will I be able to do all these. So please help me, Father. Again, thank You for everything. I honor and glorify You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
