Almighty Father, I praise and worship You. I thank You for my life, family, friends, opportunities, provisions, and everything else You have provided me. Indeed, You are ever omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. More than anything, thank You for giving me the privilege of knowing what it means to love and be loved not just by the people around me but, most significantly, by You.
Before anything else, Father, I ask that You forgive me for sinning against You in my anger. I confess that oftentimes, I fail in this area of my life. I negatively react when I get hurt, disappointed, or frustrated. I struggle with remaining composed and patient when my needs are unmet. Most of the time, I get angry easily at people closest to me or the people I love when they have done something that will cause me pain. I am sorry, and I repent of all my sins.
Lord, every time I am triggered to be mad, please allow me to look upon it as an opportunity to demonstrate the love that comes from You alone— a love that is patient and kind, a love that always has room for errors, and a love that forgives. Help me, Father, to always choose to react in love rather than respond in anger. Please remind me that even the kindest person in my life could cause me pain, so I should fix my eyes on You alone, Who is perfect and will always meet my deepest needs.
Please remind me, Lord, that I am a sinner who commits mistakes and will fail you and the people I love. Just like them, I am also imperfect. But still, You never fail to forgive and give me another chance. Father God, I pray that You will allow me to experience Your forgiveness over and over again so that it would be easier for me to showcase that kind of love to others as well. So I lift up to You all my struggles with my sudden bursts of anger that are not pleasing in Your eyes.
I come to You today, Abba Father. Help me forgive and let go of everything that will cause me to be angry and react in a way that leads to sin. And amid my anger, please help me demonstrate Your love so that I could also win more hearts for You. I pray I will truly conquer anger for Your honor and glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
