Prayer in Loving Difficult People

Dear God, You are the Alpha and Omega, my Rock and Redeemer. You are gracious and wonderful. Your unwavering love keeps me going today, and I canโ€™t thank You enough for loving me the same every day.

Father, I am blessed to be called Your beloved child. For giving Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to demonstrate Your love for me. Thank You that Your love for me is both unconditional and sacrificial. Even if most of the time, I fail to recognize that.

Please forgive me for the times Iโ€™ve caused pain to others because of my selfish actions and hurtful words. Forgive me for the times Iโ€™ve let my bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness cloud my love for people You love equally as You love me. I am sorry that I have a hard time loving people because I canโ€™t find it in my heart to forgive them.

I know that I canโ€™t love others without first experiencing Your love. So thank You, Jesus, for coming into my life. Fill me with Your love so that I have no other choice but to extend it to others. I cannot, in any way, love others in my power. It is only through You that I can do it.

Humble my heart, loving Father, that I may be able to love difficult people in my life. Please remove every ounce of hatred that I have in my heart. Soften my heart that is as hard as a rock so that I may be able to forgive others completely. Remind me that just like them, I am, too, a sinner and an imperfect person who deserves love and forgiveness over and over again.

Jesus, help me love You best. So I can love others better. Especially on the days that they are undeserving. Remind me that I have to love them otherwise, not because they deserve it, but because they need it.

Help me grow more in love so that I can be a better channel of Your grace and that I would not fall into the trap of the enemy. Change my heart that they may see You through me. Thank You, and I love You.

I submit everything in Your hands, Father. You deserve all the praise and glory. In Jesusโ€™ name, Amen.
